TGIF

“Thank God it’s Friday” is pretty much all I have to say today. It’s been a strange week with the EURO 2008 being hosted in my home town, the Swiss team losing out, the German Team being on the verge of doing so and worst of all: No shoots this week. I suppose it’s a good thing when it pains me not to be shooting anything for a week. (And I mean this in the most non-financial way!)

It’ll all be better by Monday. Three projects coming up next week. Starting of with a model test Monday evening, where my fellow friend and photog Beat will help out as my assistant. Then we’ll move on to some more delicate work doing some nude studio work Friday night. And on Saturday I’ll be kicking off the first series for my 2009 exhibition project. Not too many details on that yet. It will most likely happen in late 2009 and run for 4-6 weeks. No working title for it either - I’ll be making that up as I produce the images. I’ll keep you posted as things evolve…

To finish things up for today I give you little snippet of the last minutes of happiness for the Swiss. Shortly after this frame it all went to shits… at least in a soccer kind of way…

The Amsterdam Getaway

Last weekend me and my beloved girlfriend went for a short getaway to Amsterdam. We’ve both been there a couple of times on various occasions before and it seemed like the perfect place to forget the world for a couple of days…

We stayed clear of all the usual tourist attractions, museums with endless lines at the box office, Italian restaurants blatently offering a Tourist Menu for €19.99 (yikes!!!). Instead we drank a lot of Dutch beer and walked the city, through the bad and the good districts, had a look at all the little things. I was actually kind of hyped to take another shot at street photography and once again realized that it just isn’t my part of the game. I missed my lights and the Ranger unit… Each to his own I suppose. So I resigned to some cheesy Kodak Moments and clichée shots of Amsterdam. Below are a few…

Might do well on a postcard perhaps…

Classic A’dam bycicle on bridge shot… mind you, without the bridge in frame :-)
More after the jump!
